I recently investigated our options for recovering from a regional database outage (after that big us-east-2 outage a few weeks ago) and ran into a few limitations.
I understand that automatic failover is currently only available on Enterprise plans. My team has a few questions:
1. Is there any plan to bring automatic failover — or at minimum a self-serve manual promotion flow — to lower-tier plans, and if so, what is the rough timeline? 2. In the meantime, if we experience a regional outage on our current plan, what is the recommended recovery path? Is there anything your support team can do to assist with replica promotion during an active incident? 3. If we wanted to implement our own standby setup using two separate Supabase projects kept in sync, do you have any guidance or recommended approaches for doing that?
We want to make sure we're building a realistic recovery plan around what your platform actually supports today. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Supabase gives you the tools, documentation, and community that makes managing databases, authentication, and backend infrastructure a lot less overwhelming.
