...and this is the only response i get from every openclaw command since the update.

Solution

That stack trace is coming from a new security check around OpenClaw’s temp directory. It’s refusing to start because the fallback tmp dir it wants to use already exists but is considered unsafe (wrong perms/owner, or it’s not a real directory):

This is fixable without touching your real OpenClaw state (that lives under

~/.openclaw/

~/.openclaw/

). You just need to repair/remove that temp folder.

1) Inspect what you have

Run:

id -u
ls -ld /tmp /tmp/openclaw* 2>/dev/null

id -u
ls -ld /tmp /tmp/openclaw* 2>/dev/null

2) Fix it (preferred: make it owned by you and
