Cannot access Gateway after Mac update
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use my ClawdBot but shut it down incorrectly, and now I keep getting a gateway error. I've tried following the OpenClaw docs to run doctor, health, etc., but I can't seem to get it working.
Here's my setup and what I'm seeing:
- Mac Mini (base configuration), macOS Sequoia
- OpenClaw installed via npm
- Running locally only (no cloud/remote setup)
- Gateway status shows: "Runtime: stopped (state spawn scheduled)" — the service is loaded but not running and appears to exit immediately
- Web UI loads at http://127.0.0.1:18789 but shows: "Gateway: not detected (gateway closed (1006 abnormal closure (no close frame)): no close reason)"
- Running
- Docker is not installed, so
Log file locations:
- /tmp/openclaw/openclaw-2026-02-27.log
- ~/.openclaw/logs/gateway.log
- ~/.openclaw/logs/gateway.err.log
I recently updated to macOS Sequoia, which may have broken the Node.js environment or the OpenClaw installation.
Has anyone run into this issue after an OS update? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy to share log output if needed.
