I was wondering if openclaw (2026.2.26) supports setting up telegram to send webhooks instead of polling approach?
What would the config look like. Which ports do I need to expose?
I already have a great working setup using the polling method but was looking for more stable connections.

Solution
If polling is already solid for you, webhook is mostly a “nice-to-have”, not a guaranteed stability upgrade.
- Lower latency for inbound messages (push instead of waiting for the next
- Fewer moving parts on the outbound “poll loop” side (no long-poll runner getting wedged on some networks).
- Slightly less Telegram API traffic.
Cons
- You now depend on public inbound HTTPS being reachable (DNS, TLS, nginx routing, firewall).
- More setup / more things that can break (and when it breaks, it can look like “bot just stopped receiving”).
- If your goal is “more stable”, webhook only helps if your instability is specifically the long-polling connection; it won’t fix general VPS/network flakiness.
So: if you already have nginx + a domain and you don’t mind the extra config, webhook is reasonable. If polling is working and you don’t have evidence it’s the weak link, I’d personally keep polling.
