Command error in group chat

hi whenever i use a command with my openclaw agent, it only works in the direct messages and it does not work in the group that i've created with someone else. even though the group policy is set to open and the dm policy is set to pairing, i've tried all of the solutions that are suggested by claude and none of it is working because as soon as i use a command in the group, it says "you are not authorized to use this command". while the same command used in the dm works perfectly well. what could be the reason for this?
