Ollama as Secondary/Local Agent

Running ollama and openclaw on the same Ubuntu Server. i can run openclaw with anthropic, and i can run "ollama launch openclaw". Both work. I can even get a secondary/local agent "working". the problem is that whenever i try to launch a session with that local agent, it runs with a context of 128000, which my GPU doesn't support.

Solution

  providers: { ...your ollama provider... }
}

Then restart the gateway and start a fresh session (don’t reuse an old thread/session that might have a model override stored).

B) Double-check you’re not carrying an old session model override

If you ever did

/model ...

/model ...

inside that session previously, that override can stick even after config changes. Starting a new session/thread (or resetting the session) avoids that.

Also: what version are you on? (

openclaw --version

openclaw --version

) — there have been a few model-registry/merge edge cases across releases, so version matters here.
