Systemic Session/Context Drop Across Agents (started as Ellis issue, now cross-agent + cross-channel
Brief incident summary (for OpenClaw staff):
We initially treated this as an Ellis-specific context/session continuity issue.
It now appears systemic: user messages are sometimes not landing in the expected agent session, or do not trigger the expected active session.
We have evidence of stale direct sessions and message-routing/session-trigger mismatch.
We’ve already added mitigation (Session Continuity Guard + retries/checks), but we think we’re barking up the wrong tree and need core-platform guidance.

Message didn’t trigger expected agent session
In Discord, main assistant explicitly reported Bramble Telegram task did not land:
“Whatever you sent on Telegram doesn’t seem to have landed or triggered a session. Try again.”
It also flagged Bramble Telegram session as stale vs current runtime.

Some Ellis/CEO paths show repeated 429 rate_limit_error during heartbeat windows, which may be compounding behaviour but does not fully explain cross-agent session-drop symptoms.
