Trying to set up but having issue with pairing

Fresh Mac Mini M4 install, OpenClaw 2026.3.2. Node host service is running (openclaw node status shows active) but openclaw nodes status shows Known: 0, Paired: 0, Connected: 0. Node host never appears for pairing. Anyone else hit this?
Solution
This usually means the node host service is “running” but never successfully connects/auths to the Gateway, so the Gateway never gets a device pairing request (role: node).
A quick ladder that tends to pinpoint it fast:
1) Confirm you’re looking at a healthy Gateway
(Version matters because it’s common for the service to be on a different install than your shell
2) See if the node ever requested device pairing
