Setting up - Help a beginner
Hi everyone!
Absolute rookie here so sorry for the most likely lack of very basic knowledge, it's just a lot of stuff to learn at the same time...
New to macOS and new to any sort of programming/coding.
I'm running a brand new Mac Mini M4 (16GB RAM / 256GB SSD) and I've set up the very basics, or at least got the bot to talk to me on Telegram.
In order to avoid burning through a ton of money in tokens from an external API, I want to run a local LLM to help me with basic tasks and at least provide basic communication with the agent through the bot. The plan is to start building different apps and escalate things as I learn more and more about the whole thing.
Knowing this Mac is very short in terms of memory and I'm still in time to return it, what kind of setuo would you recommend for my goal? The idea is for it to be something that I can have discretely sitting next to the router in the living room, not a server-like huge piece of equipment.
Would an Mac Mini M4 in other CPU/RAM/SSD configurations be worth it? Im not a fan of the macOS per se but it's a user-friendly platform that doesnt crazy if you dont restart it for over 24h like a Windows does, so there's that... anyway, lets hear your thoughts and thanks in advance!
