Going to hive too quickly

Each time my back pack fills up to like 400 mil ( got 1.5 bil storage), it goes back to the hive without having gotten full storage. I feel like it does this because the miku tide shift pattern quickly leaves the field to reposition and then goes back. That small amount of time maybe confuses the macro into thinking im already full?
