Polyethylene in clothing
My viscose pants I bought are 20% polyethylene- so like, PE, the basic plastic from water bottles etc
I’ve never seen it in clothes I think? I was wondering why it’s not more common, knowing it’s the most produced type of plastics!
Have you seen instances of PE on material composition tags?
Just curious, thanks!...
meermin sizing waxy commander chelsea (516054)
https://eu.meermin.com/products/516054-black-waxy-commander-e-ultraflex-system
I've never owned chelseas or even waxy commander shoes/boots, so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of how much the width will stretch vs just going 1/2 size up. I'm contemplating going up from 9.5 to 10.
I got the chelsea boots and have walked around indoors a bit while wearing thick (or double layering) socks to try and speed up the stretching....

Other Online Fashion Spaces?
Hello !!
I am hoping that ppl here have useful recommendations in two different areas, they are:
1. does anybody know any spaces like this server but with more womenswear, young ppl, or experimental fashion? Everybody i know irl who dresses well just uses like tiktok, insta and pinterest for inspo but i dont like scrolling bc it makes my brain numb :c I know EHF is kinda that but i prefer to lurk and i think they require more active participation?
2. are there any big sources of fashion book pdf's? archive.org and archive.pdf are both very threadbare and i havent had any luck with any of the obvious book piracy websites. r there like private trackers or usenet groups that everybody uses?...
Any decent guide on judging clothes quality?
I've seen some of the MFAD recommended brands and pretty much none of them are available in my country, so is there a way to appraise the quality of the garment without the reliability of a brand?
Harrington Jacket Help
Hello I am looking at getting a Harrington or similar blouson style jacket for Fall and Spring wear.
I’m mainly between either a Baracute G9 or the Grenfell Harrington. Both look good, but there is less info on the Grenfell and I can’t see sizing for it.
Is this a versatile jacket, and is one brand better than the other? I’m mainly looking at new as I’m too small and slim to fit a vintage jacket....
How are well fitting shoes supposed to feel?
Is the toe box supposed to be loose? Snug? Is the arch support meant to be flush against the sole of your foot? Or is it supposed to feel like its digging up into your foot? Or is your foot supposed to feel like you're barefoot/the arches are suspended over the air?
I get bad foot pain after very little walking despite being relatively active and in shape - I think it's a shoe fit problem? I get around it somewhat by stacking insoles, but I was told that was only a bandaid solution for shitty ass shoes....
Are these the right fit?
Ordered these Amazon “slim fit” chinos (size 40/28). I’m 5’7”. Imo these are too long and too wide. Need these for work on Thursday when my new CEO visits the office… What do you guys think?

Looking for a similar but more accessible alternative to a Yuketen (secondhand welcome/preferred)
I know that the terms would be roughly "moc toe" and "camp moc", but beyond that does anyone have suggestions for finding shoes similar to these https://clutch-cafe.com/products/yuketen-yuks-country-ranger-fo-marraca at a lower price point? Mostly looking to go used/vintage, hoping to spend under $75 and definitely under 200—cheap I know, but I'm not above haggling. tbh I don't value the welting style quite as much as a lot of people, although obviously I don't want ones that will fall apart easily and are genuinely poorly made. A rubber sole of some kind is basically a must though (I do like crepe but that's not a requirement)
I've honestly eyed these since with my employee discount and a store credit from returning something I'd only actually pay like $25, but I'm willing to bet there are nicer options even closer to the reference within my range if I go secondhand https://www.nordstromrack.com/s/8482199?color=&size=10&width=m...
Very Peculiar Request
Hello I need a very soft very tiny pair of shorts.
Ideal characteristics
1. short - talking 5" inseam absolute max, would prefer somewhere around 3"
2. no pockets/button/hardware - this is a non negotiable, these are for yoga and I want them to lay flat...
Is this UES Henley too big?
Back again with yet another fit check 🙃 — this time it’s the UES waffle knit Henley in size 5 (their biggest). I attached pics of me wearing it and the model shots for comparison. The sleeves are a bit long and stack at the cuffs, and the body has a loose drape. Do you think this fit looks right as is, or should I size down for something cleaner? Also curious if anyone’s noticed these shrink much after a wash.

Budget friendly high rise pants suggestions
Hey everyone,
I've always been a sucker for pleated pants and I use them often in my outfit rotations. However, I only have 3 pairs and two are from uniqlo. While I like their wide, relaxed fit, I do feel like they have a relatively low rise waist. I'm pretty tall at 6'2 with jean length of 34-36.
I often see pictures go by of men looking so very classy with pleated pants giving off a look I can't seem to get quite right. And I think it has to do with the rule of thirds. When it looks clean as hell they often have that shortered torso visual going on because the rise of their pants goes way higher.

Knitwear check-in
Do we have any cool/unique non-boring knitwear posts floating around? I’m ready to get a little weird with it. Drop your favs or inspiration pics so we can level up beyond the standard sweaters.
Best wool wash and conditioner?
I use the Outback brand and it's been working pretty good, but wanted to see what brands the community likes using before buying my next one as it's almost empty.

Did I do alright?
Dress code check. Sorry wasn't able to click a better picture. This was for a night out.

Is this outfit fine or are the pants a problem?
Pretty much all my pants are slim fit or tapered at the bottom, I might have to switch things up soon.

How to achieve a fit like in the picture?
19M. My goal is achieving the fit in the picture without the fancy lapels ofc.
I do know now that I need to get my blazer's sleeves shortened, trouser shortened in length so that it just hangs above the shoe, and trousers seem too wide. Are any other changes required which i can mention to the tailor?...

How badly/well does this suit fit?
Hi! First post here. Some background: 5'5", 57kg 18m based in UK
I've got a university formal event in 2 and a half weeks, with a black suit as part of the attire. I want to know what tailoring needs to be done here. From my research, I think the trousers obviously need to be hemmed (they didn't have the short size in stock) and the shirt sleeve needs to be shortened.
I also think the fit of the suit around my waist is slightly wide, I have a slight v-taper so wouldn't it look better taken in a few inches? I'm unsure if the suit sleeves are okay length, I'm thinking the sleeves are a tad wide because of the creases in the back photo. ...

How to dress good with little kids/clothes that can be used hard
I have a two year old and a three year old. I like to wear tailored clothing for work and date nights, but that doesn't work great for going to the park and getting pizza hands rubbed on me. What would you wear other than gym shorts and junky t-shirts? I suppose work-wear stuff looks better with some wear and tear, but I'm not much of a work-wear guy. Help please. Thanks.
Chain length?
I realize this is pretty subjective but just looking for opinions about what might work best.
I'm thinking of shortening this 21" chain by around 3" as shown in the first photo but have also included a couple of different options for comparison along with the original length in the last photo....

Anyone knows the name of this type of shirt?
Insane request but I saw my friend's drawings and she had drawn herself with a shirt design she liked so uhh anybody knows?
