Connecting to Linux machine

Hello, I am trying to connect my 5-col wireless Corne to my linux desktop PC (fresh install) and it is not showing up on the device list to pair. It works fine pairing with other devices and I have another keyboard which paired with no problem. I have already cleared the BT profile. It seems that it might just not be showing the “Corne” name but I do not know how to pick it out of all the other random addresses.

German layout

Hi! I have build my first keyboard and so far a lot works fine. I want to use german characters like äßöü. Those work fine. But i am not able to setup the @ character, square brackets or the pipe character. I setup the keys_de.h config and added the import to my keymap file as state in this guide: https://zmk.dev/blog/2024/01/05/zmk-tools#zmk-locale-generator I also tried changing the locale of my keyboard, that wasnt successfull either since the "german umlaute" were removed by the change. ...

nice!nano certain key presses result in four presses along the row

I purchased the solderless option for my corne 5 column, and it has consistently been an issue. The USB-c cable sold by typeractive is so stiff and tight in the port on the nice!nano that the chip regularly comes loose from circuit board. When this happens, the keyboard behaves in bizarre ways, such as that described above; specifically, it is the first column on right side. On this occasion however, I pressed on the nice!nano and ensured it was seated correctly, and the problem was not resolved. I tried reflashing the firmware, but this also did not work. To further narrow down the issue, I tried switching the right and the left chip, leaving the solderless pins through the receptors on the chips. In this experiment, the faulty chip behaved in exactly the same way in mirror image on the left side. This led me to believe that the issue is either with the chip itself or with the chip-side connection to the solderless pins. To further test, I removed both chips from the pins and started to switch the left/right pins. Unfortunately, I managed to snap one of the pins in half so it can no longer function. My hypothesis is that one or more of the soldered connections on the chip itself was broken loose under the strain of Typeractive's USB-c cable; the whole chip visibly bends and deforms every time I plug in the cable, despite my best efforts to be gentle and keep everything aligned. The keyboard stopped working after the last time I unplugged the cable. I'm obviously going to need more pins--maybe I'll solder them this time--but I'm wondering if the community has any advice about the issue I was seeing. Should I perhaps buy an additional nice!nano? Should I invest in a different USB-c cable too? Are my handling practices erroneous? Is the chip malfunctioning due to manufacturer error? I'd appreciate someone else's take. I love this keyboard and I'd hate to leave it behind! Thanks all...

Unable to flash firmware to nice!nano

Hi all! I just received two nice nanos in the mail and was able to flash one of them with both the firmware provided on typeractive's website as well as my own custom firmware. But I'm having difficulty getting my second nano to flash properly. When I plug in the nano, it's blue light flashes rapidly on its own without pressing the reset button. And it only requires one press of the reset button/shorting gnd and rst to get it to enter it's bootloader mode and register as a drive on my windows computer. When I try to upload my firmware my computer gives an interesting error that says
"These files might be harmful to your computer: Your internet security settings suggest that one or more files may be harmful. Do you want to use it anyway?" ...

Help choosing parts for beginner

I am a beginner and this is my first build. I haven’t soldered anything before so i’m def doing the PCB, 3d printed cases and covers, no-solder hotswap, choc switches. I am unsure on if i should buy the batteries from typeractive bc they seem kinda small. Is there larger batteries i can choose so i only have to charge like monthly? are the nicenanos needed or is there a cheaper part? it’s getting a little expensive for me so i would prefer if i was able to get a cheaper version. also can i add t...

nice!nano seems to have broken after USBC charging and a cold walk

Hi y'all. Built my first corne using the solderless headers. So for context, I walk to work in a cold state in the USA. I charged my corne overnight via USB-C (it didn't show 100% charge after, but it had never fully charged). I walked to work (~30min in 5F-ish, standard for the week prior) a whole row & col of keys (corresponding to p1.13 and p1.00, both 4 up from the bottom) were no longer working on the right side. The corne was in my bag, and it wasn't banged or anything like that. The cold may have been unrelated, maybe I just put it together wrong -- but it had been working for around a week or so before this. I'm a newbie when it comes to electronics, so I tried to have Mr. GPT help talk me through the steps as I read the troubleshooting documentation. So my main question is: Is this something that I broke? Could the cold do this? Or is this just a bad nice!nano? The AI also summarized all of the troubleshooting steps below. ...

Lily58 Wireless left half - a few columns not working

Counting from the left; first, third and fourth column are working but the rest are not. I've isolated to issue to the PCB since swapping controllers yield the same outcome. I have also checked all the joints with my multimeter and soldering seems to be OK. What to do?

Power and reset switches - button covers?

Hello! I've just built my new Corne, which has been tons of fun - but I'm wondering if I've missed something. Do the reset and power switches come with covers? The bare switches are quite deep so it's a bit fiddly turning it on and off. Should there have been something in the kit? If not, any recommendations on what I can put on them?

Second Column not working

I recently got my partially assembled corne and tested the keys after flashing. One column did not work. I attempted to reflash, reflow solder, and checked the diodes, and nothing helped. I swapped the chip to the other half and the issue persisted. I concluded that the issue is with one chip's pin, specifically P1.13. I have pictures I can provide proof of my solder work on my chip. What can I do to fix this if possible? My case was 3D printed.

Nice Nano cannot update manually and locked out of ZMK Studio

Hi there, I have been using the keymap editor for a long time to build my firmware and then I flash it manually. Not too long ago I switched to ZMK studio and when I was updating my layouts I forgot to add a sticky layer key to my new layer and I have lost access to my unlock button. I tried to go back to my last keymap editor firmware because I know that the unlock key was on that one but for some reason, I cannot get my nano to flash the firmware anymore. I go through the process but it doesn'...

Is it possible to fit a 5mm battery between the case and PCB?

Hello I just bought a lily58 kit with the default case and since I can't import lipo batteries to my country I only have access to 1000 mAh 50mm x 35mm x 5m and 500 mAh 44mm x 22mm x 5mm from my local shops, so I would like to know if anyone could adapt a bigger battery?

Lily58 Compatibility with ASUS BT500

Hey all, I just built my lily58 pro and it's working just fine. I had some input delay and double click issues when I connected to my computer using the onboard Bluetooth receiver. I decided to buy an external BT Receiver (Asus USB-BT500 more specifically) to get a better connection. The problem is that I can't seem to make the connection using the dongle. I certified that the nice!nano BT profile was cleared, and that the desktop profile from my previously successful connection was erased too. Any ideas of what could be happening here and how to fix it?...

How to set up Miryoku on Corne 6x3?

I just built a typeractive Corne 6x3 and am attempting to get set up. How does one flash Miryoku to it? I followed the ZMK Miryoku Getting Started tutorial (https://github.com/manna-harbour/miryoku_zmk/tree/master/docs/quickstart) but the keys on the left side appear to be off by at least 1 row and one column: typing on the middle row rightmost 4 keys produces "qwfp" and typing on the thumb cluster gives "xcd". How does one get Miryoku set up correctly on the typeractive Corne?...
