GTA V is installed but isn't starting up on Mac M1 Pro
I have imported GTA V from my Windows PC (via USB) and it is showing correctly in Heroic. Now I have setup CrossOver on my M1 Pro and created a new Bottle called "Heroic" on Win 7 64 Bit and installed the Rockstar Games Launcher into the Bottle. I have also set the Heroic Bottle in Heroic Games Launcher, but the game will not start. The Play button gets gray, but gets green again after a couple of seconds.
Can somebody help me out?

@alec.no1 you are using an old version of heroic, update to latest release. Also, on github we have a pkg for M1
Try it and let me know if it worked

@FlavioF34rn do you have a link to that pkg install and how do i use it to fix the issue?
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
Just updated heroic website with the link for both arm and Intel
quickest-silver•3y ago
@FlavioF34rn just tried it, it said it was damaged and couldnt be opened
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
Ah, great
So it won't work
I thought that by building on my machine would work
Damn apple
For arm64 we need an apple dev account and it costs 100usd per year
quickest-silver•3y ago
i dont know why it wont work,
In like march it worked with heroic verson 1.10.3
But now it wont
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
That's a long time, probably your bottle or prefix stopped working. Work some update on gtav broke it on Mac
can you try running tihs command after installing the arm64 version?
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Heroic.app"
if it works I will add the instructions on the websitequickest-silver•3y ago
sure
it asked me for my password and then :
xattr: No such file: /Applications/Heroic.app
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Heroic.app
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
so you might have installed heroic on another place
replace the path with where heroic is installed
quickest-silver•3y ago
its in my applications folder
i havent deleted it,
just when i open it it says its damaged
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
run this on terminal
mdfind kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "heroic"
actually
mdfind kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "heroic"
damn
put * between the heroic name
because when I do this here on discord it changes the text formating
quickest-silver•3y ago
* instead of " ?
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
both
quickest-silver•3y ago
yeah alr
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
for me it shows something like:
quickest-silver•3y ago
u want be to enter that?
or this mdfind kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = heroic ?
damn
on discord if i replace the " with * it changes the font
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine | mdfind kMDItemCFBundleIdentifier = "*heroic"
this now
so it will run the command on all heroic apps it can find
you need to have spotlight enabled, otherwise it wont workquickest-silver•3y ago
spotlight
the search thing for apps?
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
yes
some people disable it
quickest-silver•3y ago
i did it,
it asks for a password so im guessing its my login password
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
yes
quickest-silver•3y ago
but after that nothing
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
heroic still does not work?
quickest-silver•3y ago
nope
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
if not then I dont know what to do, you will need to use the intel one
quickest-silver•3y ago
i dont know what im doing wrong,
i tried the intel one and had the same issye
issue*
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
well, maybe it wont work anyway, I will test more when I have the time
which issue?
quickest-silver•3y ago
gta not starting
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
ah ok
but Heroic arm64 opens?
thats what I asked
after the command
quickest-silver•3y ago
oh no, it dosent
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
arill shows as damanged
quickest-silver•3y ago
“Heroic” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin.
is what it says
grumpy-cyan•3y ago
ok, no problem
anyway, about GTA I have no way of testing, lets see of someone else can help, but maybe try creating another bottle
and enable DXVK on it
quickest-silver•3y ago
alright
thanks
