Want to create workspace with code-server per service

but IDK how to automate the git repo clone? Do I need to clone the repo into unique docker images? That feels like way too much. What is the best way to go about this?

I basically want to just hand employee1 his workspace, employee2 his, etc and then we do not have to run and setup the local development environment.

So I need to (1) setup workspaces with images that can run each service (got the VM configured, built from code-server)

(2) need these containers to be able to pull from GitLab without being prompted to confirm (related to known_hosts files here, havent figured this out)

you should be able to do both 2 and 3 using startup_scriptstartup_script, well, 2 is the most tricky really.

how i see it :
on startup, test access (by cloning some repo or whatever to see if it errors).

if the test failed, then add some line in the bashrc/wtv to prompt the user to set up their ssh key in gitlab (or use gitlab oauth), then call the clone script.

if the test didn't fail (which means the user has access), then call the clone script. if I were you I'd make the clone script clone repos in the user's home folder and automatically pull already cloned repos if there's no changes

@Phorcys @thy Thank you for the feedback here, but I am struggling to figure out how to use this in the docker container. Entrypoint seems as if it has to be in init_script, right?

https://github.com/coder/coder/blob/main/dogfood/main.tf#L29-L37 you provide the startup script to the coder_agentcoder_agent resource, not the docker container. the agent will run the script on startup, so you can keep the containers init script as-is
