Seems like the complaint is that it can't verify steam is running. I also notice that the STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH isn't valid on disk. There is no .steam folder in /home/deck/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl (I'm aware the . prefix marks a dir as hidden but it's not there hidden or not)
