(SOLVED) SKR 2 Fan2 incorrect socket?
Hiya all, building my v-Minion from a full kit via Fabreeko.
Ran across an odd issue. My SKR 2 board Fan2 socket (which is used for the electronics enclosure fan) seems to be switched around.
Board pin out says 1st pin is VBB (+) and 2nd is PB5 (-). Wiring diagram shows fan should be plugged in with pin 1 - red wire, pin 2 - black wire.
However the socket seems to be backwards. If I plug in the fan, pin 1 will be black, pin 2 will be red. Fan0 and Fan 1 sockets are correctly oriented.
Should I switch the pins in the connector around? I just want to be sure they didn’t switch the pins in the socket around too.
(No I will not power it on with the fan header plugged in until I’m absolutely certain it’s safe. It was plugged in just for the picture to show what’s going on.)

This fan looks swapped for sure
@miklschmidt
Either swap the pins in the connector or swap the jst header on the board. (you can pry it off with tweezers). Definitely a manufacturing error. The pins will be the same though as that's part of the PCB layout and is not easily changed (would require a different PCB design).
Just to make sure i'm communicating clearly: The manufacturing error is that the plastic housing on the board is rotated 180 degrees. Either rotate it back or swap the pins in the JST plug on the fan.
So they did the same thing they did with the octopus board ehh?
Not sure? What happened with what octopus board?
They have the jst plug backwards so all the cables are wrong for the endstops
No, the octopus endstop headers are identical to all other BTT boards.
The cable that RR ships have the pins configured for Duet's. That just recently changed in october last year, they now ship with the correct pin configuration.
Those are all by design
Gotcha
This issue is a one off manufacturing derp that shouldn't have made it past QC.

Thanks @miklschmidt - I was being paranoid about the cable connectors because I saw the RR issue with the endstop cables. I got this kit from Fabreeko last week and it had the old (incorrect pinout) endstop cables with black connectors so there is still old stock out there. The updated endstop cables have white connectors now, correct?

Swapped the pins, no issues. Thanks everyone!
