What types of surface artifacts are these?

What causes this?

Looks like you have multiple artifacts... Some z wobble, also looks like belts either too tight or some kind of interference in movement

Thanks. I'll check the tensions. Also I don't think there's much z wobble at all (that's what causes z banding right?). I'm thinking it's mainly VFAs.

You should see how bad the z banding is on my X1 carbon:

This particular issue isn't present above.

Yeah, z-banding can have various causes

Or at least z wobble is barely there compared to the x1. Anyway the original pic is from my v minion. Just checked the belt tension and they don't feel tight at all. Not loose but there's not really any audible pitch if I pluck them. Actually it sounds about 70 hz

Using sound for tension doesn't mean much. You want the belts more on the loose side. You start with them just tight enough to not slap the frame when moving them use the generate belt tension graph macro for adjusting them

causes could be: z banding over-extrusion too low fan

first make sure that Z leadscrew is not oscillating and that the distance from the frame is equal from bottom to up, than try extrusion multiplier test to regulate the extrusion for that filament. I usually do the cube one: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/extrusion-multiplier-calibration_2257
