- EF Core for sure. Tiered architecture is debatable, DDD is generally more liked around these parts. Depends on the tiers you want to add, tho, and how many of them will be useless passthroughs.

- I've no experience with Umbraco so can't tell. One thing for sure, tho, if you use Umbraco you use Umbraco. Not EF, not MVC, it's like Wordpress or Joomla.
