What wine version should I use for Heroic 2.5.2 on Mac?
Trying to play unsupported games on mac, but I've been lost since idk what wine version or wine branch app (eg.: winetricks, wineskin, winebottler, etc.) to use.
Could someone help me choose one wine instance? I'll provide specs if needed.

Either:
A. Pay for crossover (reccomended), or
B. Try out wineskin to get wine on MacOS (may not work properly)

I was able to open the game, but the problem is that BTD6 checks your Epic Games account at startup, and idk if there's even a way to bypass to connect that with a mere wrapper. II find it pretty unbelievable that people have made an exe executer for mac, but that's all it does.
If I really wanted to, ig I could spam crossover's free trial.

Try enabling EOS Overlay using heroic. What exactly is the error right now?

OH CRAP I should've checked the pop up page that I submitted here since I actually ran an instance of wine on it
Winetricks returned the following error during execution:
Error: spawn /Users/austin/Library/Application Support/heroic/tools/winetricks ENOENT

Crossover is fine too, but I'd you got it set up in wineskin, we can try to continue with that. completely up to you.

1. Open Wineskin Winery, and clicked "Create New Blank Wrapper" under these conditions:
- Engine: WS11WineCX64Bit22.0.1-1
- Wrapper Version: Wineskin-2.9.1.5
- Name: WineskinWrapper
2. I right clicked and "showed package contents" in WineskinWrapper
3. I ran "Wineskin" inside
4. Pressed "Install Software"
5. "Chose Setup Executable"
6. Selected "BloonsTD6.exe"

But try creating a new wrapper, then try going into game settings in heroic and see if you can select wineskin/that wrapper

Try restarting heroic after you do it as well.
Then check that box again
see if you can change it
Wait where do u have wineskin installed
All wine versions need to be installed on the Home Applications folder. Heroic cannot access the Root Applications folder so it won't be able to detect wine installed there.

Uninstall wineskin maybe. I think this should be all the steps:
Install homebrew if not already installed.
brew install --no-quarantine gcenx/wine/unofficial-wineskin
Then create a new wrapper using wineskin.
Then see if anything shows up in that box in heroic. If yes, perfect. If not, you may have manually enter the path to the wineskin wine binary in heroic as a custom wine version, not sure.

Though it's a hassle/tedious, having tutorials/guides for every version would help anyone. Guides have been a life saver when I installed other application, though those experiences were on Windows... 😅
1. Ran: /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
2. Pasted: brew install --no-quarantine gcenx/wine/unofficial-wineskin
- I was about to call it a day, but I ran this command a third time after running "1." twice, and apparently it works. ok.
3. Redid this entire process, cuz apparently the settings saved:
- Engine: WS11WineCX64Bit22.0.1-1
- Wrapper Version: Wineskin-2.9.1.5
- Name: WineskinWrapper
4. Wineskin - wine7.7 (WineskinCX 22.0.1) remains the only option

To use wine from wineskin you need to create a wrapper first.
I recommend using wine crossover, that is a free version that is distributed by the same guy that distribute wineskin
I will investigate on how to download this wine version directly from heroic in the future just like we do on Linux
For now install it using brew

You need to download a newer debug build of heroic from Flavio's fork

@NitsuaGamer here is how you can do this: make sure you are logged into https://github.com, and then go to this link: https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/suites/10443382696/artifacts/516699669 if on arm64/apple silicon, or https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/suites/10443382696/artifacts/516699670 if on x64. It should download heroic. Install it (after uninstalling the old one), and after, you should now have a wine manager option. Then just login, and import/install your game, download wine from the wine manager, and select it in game settings. After that, you are good to go!

To be safe. You could probs keep heroic and update it, but let's do this to be sure that it works
