printer.cfg is now read-only after reinstalling ratos.
This might be a new one, can't find anything going through the discord search. Reinstalled ratos on a 16gb card (had an 8gb before) and everything looks good except...printer.cfg became read-only? I Think I could ssh in there and change permissions, but am I missing something? Is there an easier way? Am I an idiot?

this is soooo straaaange...in the browser it's read only, but I changed all the permissions for the file to rwx through ssh and I can now edit the file in the terminal using vim and the changes appear on the browser...but I still can't change the file from the browser/
Okay, well...if anyone has any thoughts I'm all ears. I was able to edit printer.cfg through ssh and it's working fine now, but it's not exactly the most convenient. If anyone has an idea for a fix on this I'm curious - it makes no sense to me.
Is this the case right after installing, before doing anything? I have never seen this before.

Yeah, I reinstalled/updated everything and I reflashed the octopus and this is where I'm at. But I have another clue - I just got this error:
sensitive-blue•2y ago
Tried delete-and-restore-printer-data.sh and no change
And latest update is I just realized that I can't upload files
Uninstalled and reinstalled moonraker and the warning is now gone and I can once again print!
...but the printer.cfg is still read only 🙃 Ah well, I can work with this for the time - I'm scared to muck about in there any more.

Which image are you installing?

Oh it's older, 1.2.2. But actually, I think I got it figured out. Used the uninstall and reinstall scripts in the moonraker dir and then deleted and restored the files and we're back...
I can edit in the browser again.
Ok. I'd probably recommend installing 1.2.4 which has all the changes baked in.
I'm not sure reinstalling moonraker doesn't cause other problems down the line
I guess you'll find out 😄

Uh oh...
haha
I've updated RatOS to 1.2.4
would that cover it?
No, needs a reflash. The update itself is supposed to handle the change, but it doesn't seem like it does in all cases.

Ahh, interesting. Yeah, I just checked and it says my distro is still 1.2.2...Dammit, okay I'll go ahead with reflashing so as to save myself the headache later. Appreciate it.

Hi, I don't want to open a new thread. I have a similar problem. I just updated Klipper, Mainsail and Moonraker. After that I had "read-only" access to my *.cfg files in the /config folder. After doing a "soft recovery" of RatOS, to now v1.2.4-4-g898b8ae, I still have read-only access and can't do nothing anymore, because on start-up it's saying:
Any hints what I should do ?
I backuped (copied) everything from within /Pi before doing the backup, so technically I could just reupload everything from before and it should work. Would love to have the updates though. I changed a lot in the config-files to my personal needs, because I have a custom tool-changer.

And also this warning, which I'm sure is related to my previous problem, but just adding "RatOS" at the bottom of that moonraker.asvc file doesn't solve it...
please don't hijack some else's post. Please start a new one

sorry, kinda solved it already anyways
