Fan Horns.. really could use some help, please.

Hey folks.. I'm still trying to dial in the settings for my rapido uhf with a 0.6mm nozzle.. My printing starts are as follow: Filament: PETG Temp: 235 first layer, 230 Bed: PEI, heat at 90FL, 85 Max speed: 35mm/s Max Volumetric speed: 20mm3/s Cooling: 10% across the board and disabled for first 5 layers. Perimeters at 4 Horizontal shells at 5 for both bottom and top Slicing at 0.2mm base layer and 0.3mm first layer. Infill at 25% Rectilinear No skirt, no brim Speed are ranging from 10 to 35mm/s Accelerations are all at 5500mm/s2 Width: First layer at 0.45mm, all others at 0.4mm PA is at 0.68 Extrusion Multiplier is at 0.98 As you ca see from the photos, as soon as the print starts the horns, that's where things get rough.. first, you can see the vertical line (highlighted in blue) on the outer surface and this is from the infill space that is printed internally.. the second is that the horns are printed so rough and it becomes prominent the highs the print.. I'm not sure what Barone I should be concentrating my efforts on as I feel like I've tried everything.. any advice would be appreciated.

So Temps are a bit low depending on which Filament Brand you use. Cooling is definitely to low at 10% PA 0.68? really? or 0.068? Is the PETG dried and kept dry in some dry Box? 0.15mm LH works better for EVA Parts and i would go to 0.45mm LW overall to not have Infill inside the Horns, also better to stay nearer at your real Nozzle Size

Hey Heisenberg, thanks for the reply. I'll have to double check PA.. something tells me that it is 0.068 and that I was mistaken.. I didn't have the filament in a dry box.. I do have a dry box so I'll give that a shot as well as your suggestions.. Also forgot to mention that my extrusion retraction is at 2mm, 40mm speed both ways..

2mm is way to much retraction, even with PETG and UHF Mode you should not be above 1mm

0.6 nozzle with 0.4mm line widths? I've never tried this but I have a feeling that's going to cause a lot of issues with petg...

Changed line width to 0.6mm.. dropped exterior walls to 2.. the print was definitely the best one thus far with the exception of 1) the duct crosser didn't start printing at the beginning of the the print (and most of the duct for that matter).. most likely because the line width was too wide for it.. 2) the quality at the end of the duct is still pretty rough..

0.6 line width is to much for EVA, it is designed 0.5mm max.

Do you have a 0.4 nozzle? Probably better suited for EVA parts

Have a 0.4mm nozzle on order.. will give that a go as soon as it comes in. Thanks folks.

So I put on a 0.4mm nozzle and printed the horns.. still a little rough but much better.. can anyone tell me what setting to tweak to eliminate the interior enforcement wall from showing up on the outside of the print as seen in the first photo??

What iis the printing direction. The vertical mark is after or before the corner if the antler?

I'd suggest printing some calibration cubes, etc... Changing nozzle size means new PA values, new slicer config, update nozzle size in printer.cfg, etc... Print looks better for sure but still some obvious signs of underextrusion and maybe bad PA settings If you can get some good, simple prints (cube, cylinder, etc) then move on to the horns
