Hosting shop on vercel
Hey guys, I have a quick question. My girlfriend wants a website where she can sell her art pieces and I want to make a web for her. Is it possible to host it on vercel?

Anything on vercel is going to require significantly more technical knowledge to setup than something on squarespace or Shopify. If your only building a very basic shop I would check out those options first, and then if they can’t do what you are looking for you could build it yourself.
this isn’t to dissuade you from building it yourself, just keep in mind often the simplest solution that works is the best
ofc you can but you need to pay the 20$
you cant do commercial on the free plan
maybe using something else like fly.io or railway to deploy might be cheaper then

aws amplify is also pretty simple afaik
and i would assume that ends up dirt cheap
I am starting to consider using MedusaJS
and maybe self hosting it
How much is AWS I dont really know, how it works

You could also consider using something like Etsy to actually handle the commerce portion of the setup, then just link to the products on the website (hacky, yes)
There's probably someone in this discord who wouldn't mind sitting down with you and setting up aws real quick if they knew what you had to deploy and they had done it before.
I actually have my own servers where I host my stuff but Im preatty lazy setting it all up

i just know its dirt cheap, and ive went through a few headaches using it
I found that some stuff on aws is actually free
