HOMM V + Hammers of Fate STEAM DECK
After launch, shows only first screen and crahes.
DLC Tribes of the East works OK.
Tried to launch Proton 3, 5, 6, 7, 7.49, Experimental, Next.
Also tried virtual desktop, 1280x800 resolution. Fsync, esync ON.
Same problem.

Try with Wine-GE-Proton7-38, you can install that with the wine manager option in heroic and then set that for the game, proton logs are usually not helpful

try installing d3dcompiler_47 using winetricks (you have the option in the game settings in heroic), I see that in the list of files in the memory dump so maybe that works
apart from that I'm out of ideas, maybe somebody else can help

I think the game wouldn't even have started if it required ubisoft connect, it's from gog

I guess it doesn't hurt trying https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/wiki/How-to-install-Ubisoft-Connect-on-Linux-and-Mac but I do have some ubisoft game from gog (rayman) and it doesn't need ubisoft connect

No-no, this game doesn't need it. I wrote higher that DLC Tribes Of The East works good.

Finally I solved this problem.
1) Install game on my PC.
2) Copy installed game into usb flash.
3) Paste it on my steam deck into install directory.
4) Launch game and it works perfectly!
I noticed that heroic installs an incomplete distribution. Some files are missing compared to the PC version. So in general, this method is working, use it.

might have been the GOG installation bug that affects some users of heroic 2.6.2, we have some changes to make the games installation for GOG more robust coming with heroic 2.7 so would be nice if you can test that after 2.7 is released
