Why is my output not the same as the guides? Have i discovered an error in the reference material
Or is there something painly obvious that I am missing?

I get it that it technically 'works'. But this CHAPTER 2 of a programming book. Surely they are doing this in invoke an emotion out of me. I hope this error gets addressed further into the book and its really a test to see if i noticed it, because im fuming. Accuracy matters!

I would say no. I have no idea how to change it at this point
everything inside the function executes. I suppose I could add new lines to the output to say "running calc...." and then take it out of the function. but I think thats a bit hacky just to match the output
