Failed to add to steam (linux) steamdeck
so i have installed Heroic game launcher and installed CP2077(GOG) on my steamdeck - trying to use the opton to add to steam but the following error happens
"
Adding CP2077 to steamfailed with: /home/deck/.steam/steam/user dosnt exist cant add/remove game to/from steam! "
Any ideas?

Actually it should be "/home/deck/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/config/shortcuts.vdf"
Somehow it seems there is a space in your parh
Can you check general settings what your steam path is?
Also did you ever logged into steam and maybe installed a game
Btw is this the real error message?
Can't remember to put so many mistakes in it 😄

But it seems steam did not created the userdata
Can you confirm that this path till userdata exist?
Steam should create this folder for example if you add a non steam game manually

.steam exuits ..... but everything else isnt ...
i use steam rommanager as well could this be why?

It seems that your steam folder is somewhere else
Like the rommanager does the same by adding the game to the shortcuts.vdf.
Is there something else in the ".steam" folder

I meant from heroic with that. Anyway can you check that the full path is correct. I look for /home/deck/.steam/steam. Is your user still deck or did you changed it ?

Could it be that you removed the access for heroic to steam folder via flatseal?

Should use the user permissions. I never had problems. I might need to try after work with my steam deck if something via update changed.
Can you add this path to the file browser. Does it open the correct folder?

Like rom manager created the userdata folder with wrong permissions or something

ok it auto added to steam according to heroic ...
now to swap to game mode 😄
ok its there ....
a update or change must of borked the perms even though there where set it wasnt applyed... once i reaplyed them it fixed it
