I think it's a legendary bug
considering it works with the official launcher
and wine upstream
it doesn't work with wine upstream and legendary though
so it's 100% a legendary bug

the thing is, maybe there's a fix, we just haven't found it, so technically
unsupported wouldn't be correct, there are a lot of games that have errors and require tweaking, it's a matter of finding what is the tweak needed for this game
hmmm, weird, I just got it working by installing the epic games launcher
I mean, I installed the game with Heroic/Legendary and then installed the Epic Games Launcher along with it (no need to log in or install the game through epic games launcher) and it worked
maybe it's an issue with the game looking for some specific Epic Games Launcher path in the system?

you can open the install dialog of the game in heroic and instead of Install click Import

weird issue, but I guess it's the game looking for some specific epic games launcher path that of course legendary wouldn't have

from my test at least on linux I only need to install epic games launcher but I don't have to really use it, I didn't even have to log in

I was able to fix and play the game by doing this: Step 1-Install the game with heroic games launcher Step 2- Download the epic games launcher installer from https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/home/ Step 3- On the game in the heroic games launcher library click on options and click on the "Run exe on prefix" and choose your epic games installer file and install epic games launcher. Log on your account and install the epic games service when asked. Step 4-You can close the epic games launcher because you won' t need it but all the required files are on the same prefix so you will be able to play the game . Step 5- There are some .Dll library files missing in the game i took all the necessary files and i putted them in a zip file if you need them here is the link for my google drive https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cZILYXsH2G_pQLd-dJj1mDkKIkW4VxXQ/view?usp=share_link Just extract the files to the /Games/heroic/DishonoredDOTO / Folder Step 6- Enjoy the game it will work fine when you click on play button in heroic games launcher:samsungcool:

Yes but there will be 3 missing dll that you need to download to play the game even with epic launcher installed in wine so its the same anyway because you need to link the game with epic game service running in the background for the game to start and something that is funny you don' t need epic online service for dishonored 1 and 2 only for Death of the outsider
