DHL Express currently has an import shipment on hold with US Customs, pending arrival in one of our US Gateways. Attached is a copy of the related air waybill and commercial invoice for your review.
In order to process the Entry with US Customs, clear and release the shipment, and have it delivered, we require the following information and/or documents:
·Fabric Type/Content for each item
·Manufacturer Name & Address (not necessarily the shipper’s name & address) for each item
·Federal Tax ID # for the US based Importer of Record: EIN for companies and SSN for individuals. (Please provide the full name and address associated with the number provided)
o Please be advised that a tax ID# (social security number for individuals, EIN for businesses/companies) is required by US Customs & Border Protection for all shipments importing at an overall value of $2,500 USD and above. (Or goods of Chinese origin subject to tariff regulations valued over $800 USD)
o If the associated address with your IRS# differs from the invoiced address, please provide full associated address
o If you have any inquiries as to why US Customs requires your EIN/SSN please refer to the official US Customs & Border Protection link in my signature
Please be advised, we must have this information before the “Return to Origin” (RTO) date: 4/8/2023, or the shipment must be automatically returned to the shipper, as mandated by DHL Express in compliance with US Customs & Border Protection. (We cannot guarantee that Broker Turnover or In-Bond Transit requests, made on the RTO date, will avoid the RTO process.)
