half plate is never recommended for hot swap because the switches won't stay in

I’d still say it’s not recommended no matter how well they fit.

It's also said to be "not recommended" by people who represent vendors who have to support people who make dumb build decisions
the only issue is with the switches coming off from you swiping really hard across it with your fingers really, but you will never do that under normal typing conditions. Hotswap on half plate or plateless does not affect usability on any way, up until you actually try to mess something up (or travel with the board)
