Empyrion Galactic Survival Low FPS

Hello there guys! I'm trying to run Empyrion Galactic Survival on Steam. At first I had crashing errors, but virtual desktop fixed that. Now I have fps problems. In a singleplayer world I get 5-10 fps, and in a multiplayer I seem to sometimes get normal fps, sometimes terrible fps. If I have terrible fps on multiplayer, restarting Empyrion fixes it. I would like to also be able to play single player though. Empyrion has a silver rating on proton-db and should be fine. I have tried proton experimental and latest proton-ge. I have an rtx 2050 mobile. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i have 15gb ram and 8gb swap so it should be fine but even restarting doesnt make singleplayer work multiplayer is ok if i restart but singleplayer is still 5-10fps

oke it worked aroudn the same on my old gtx card tho when i had that on windows so idk i think i should be getting better perf especiallky on singleplayer

i can later yes i remember what it said tho from when i tried it earlier gpu was at like 100% cpu was at like 20> it was using the right graphics card with the right driver version

Since it was unity (i think) i wanted to check if it's one of those games that become super slow on Linux with higher core counts But doesn't seem like it sadness :bread_sad:

The only experience i have with docker is getting it set up so i can compile Proton and then never touching it again 🐸 And that involved alot of googling :linuxLUL:

@Blisto I fixed it :D it works fine now with good fps with these args: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia The wined3d is the main one The rest just make it use my dGPU

Yeah :) Now everything works except reforged eden scenario Which is noted to not work without a swapfile on protondb @Blisto how much vram do you have i have ok fps now but i have freezes/stutters think it may be cos i only have 4gb vram which is the games minimum

Ye minimum should usually be padded a bit on Linux since Windows have much better memory management

Ye i think a 6700xt is pretty decent the 12GB is nice. I wouldn't get one below that Personally i like to pad the PSU a bit extra. But it probably doesn't matter in practice But seems fine yes i think
