Galatea 1.6mm component question
Hello, I soldered switches onto the PCB. Before soldering, I tested through VIA and all was ok. After soldering, the ESC key was not registering. So I just bridged the unused F13 layout's F1 using jumpers to the ESC location and remap everything through VIA.
However, during process of debugging the ESC key, I knocked off the diode on F8 key. May I know the spec of the diode and where should I purchase the spare part from? Would a simple LED just soldered on the location of that diode provide the correct foward/ reverse bias to the circuit? It's not urgent because I don't use that key anyway. Thank you.

I've lost a diode on one of the keys before, I just stole one from an unused key's diode. Maybe you could try that and see what happens
I have stolen from the only unused key by routing jumpers to that key
Can you take a picture and send it to me?
Hi Geon, sorry I put the board away already today as I need to bring it to office tomorrow. Here is the earlier picture with the concern.
I think I can just do a longer jumper connection to one of the split key ports and remap again with similar VIA workaround
@GTS81 You're using 7u arent you? if theres an extra key on the bottom row for the extra 6.25u key (that isnt used by 7u), you could steal the diode from that one
however, you'd have to learn how to desolder/solder surface mount diodes
its not hard if you have the right tools though
you can just google/youtube for that
but yes you could also do a workaround if you mess with firmware and add bridge wires
