HChatGPT is actually pretty useful to try & understand codebases in languages you don't know very well. You can copy past a whole function & ask it to esplain step by step. It is able to infer what variables are for just by looking at their names & contextual use in the funtion, even if the variable declaration wasn't present in the prompt. I'm currently using ChatGPT to go through OpenXR sample code

MI've issues with chatGPT and codebases too. Though this is mostly on principle.
SGPT 3 sucks but GPT 4 is pretty usable for this kind of stuff
SIt's just about understanding the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations and applying it accordingly
SYou can actually have GPT models compress a segment of text in their own words or kinda allow them to landmark it
SChunk a massive portion of code and you can juice like 20x the token quantity out by having it preprocess it all into a single block of incomprehensible tokens
MSounds like what babel typically does to javascript.
MCompresses it down as much as possible so the file size is a fraction of its normal size.
