Hello, im an upcoming CPA student this fall23. Ive decided to move out to toronto for the course of 3 years. I am currently looking for a female-only student housing nearby seneca newnham campus. Can anyone please share their experience looking for a student housing, and any advice? ei. cost of rent, monthly average cost of living as a student, renting situation, landlords, best time to look for a space, lease or rent, contracts, room mates, transportation, distance from school, etc. thank you so much!🫶

If you don’t eat out, your grocery bill should be about 2-300 assuming you don’t waste money on overpriced groceries. Renting around the newnham area will be 600-1000 bucks depending on whether you get a room, basement, or share a house. TTC is 3.30 per trip, so around 7 bucks per day on campus. Have a look on kijiji and Facebook marketplace for rent, there’s lots of female-only listings (although they seem sus, probably some weirdo loner 40 yr olds trying to get their pickle polished). Best time to look is always right now, because you will not find a good deal on day one of looking. That’s about all I can share
