I am trying to run sleeping dogs .
I ran the definetive edition which ran and could be played but my computer is not powerful enof to handle the grafics smoothly, so now installed the normal one , i.e, limited edition or something.
It's actually crashing at start.

Are you running through heroic or no?
Also if you havent already quickly try nuking the prefix

Delete the wineprefix folder

The wineprefix folder is the whole wine folder
if i delete it then everything is gone

You should be running this in a seperate prefix.
Create a folder (I usually use
~/.prefixes/<game name>, then run with WINEPREFIX=~/.prefixes/[game name]complex-tealOP•3y ago
So for the 1st one i think i need to make a folder in home folder named .prefixes
and then the game folder

i just go to the installation directory of the game and click the .exe file
it crashes right after start
I had definetive edition of this game running successfully but uninstalled it due to not having a good enof PC

I see. I reccomend you install wine-ge if you havent already, then we can continue. Also, what distro are you using?

FWIW, I was able to run the GOG version of Sleeping Dogs via Heroic with Wine-GE.

Why do you need to use lutris? Have you considered using the gog build of sleeping dogs using heroic?

ok, so using protontricks and setting vd=1280x1024 allows the game to start. Then I was able to change the resolution from the game's settings UI to my own resolution (1920x1080x60Hz).
