Poker Club FPS freeze
Hi everyone, I am writing for the first time in this community.
I have been having problems running Poker Club correctly. When the main menu options appear the screen starts to freeze in a sequence of 1-2 seconds
I have tried changing graphics parameters such us "full screen" to "windowed" or "high" to "low", but nothing change.

from that error you might need to install some gstreamer packages on your system, check if you can install libgstvpx and the rest listed there in the errors

Do you mean on my linux distro or on this particular wine prefix?
rival-blackβ’3y ago
that's an issue with wine-ge
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
On your distro, gstreamer plugins are system packages
rival-blackβ’3y ago
gstreamer doesn't matter
I get that error in any game
regardless of wiether or not it works

I didn't look at log yet πΈ
Lets see

so let me try with "prefer system libraries"

might be a vram issue
3gb of vram is pain
also could be a nvidia driver issue
optimistic-goldOPβ’3y ago
so do I need install that dependency?
rival-blackβ’3y ago
probably not
optimistic-goldOPβ’3y ago
I am working with private Nvidia drivers
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
Ye, depending on what kind of game it is i can see it is exploding your vram to the roof with combination of NV driver vram issues.

VRAM Allocation Issues
Hello, Lately there seems to be a very serious VRAM Allocation Issue with dxvk/vkd3d and even native vulkan applications. It seems to push the VRAM usage towards itβs absolute limit(much much higher than anything on windows) and even enabling DLSS(which if you compare windows to linux it does NOT free up VRAM). To provide as much details as p...

standard nvidia on linux moment
people say it's good (probably because it's gotten much better), but it's still pretty subpar
in my opinion
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
That is called "proprietary" not private
And yes, we can see it on your log that you're on 530 driver
optimistic-goldOPβ’3y ago
Thanks you all, this could be the reason. So I will try with AMD in my laptop, but not today.

nvidia GPUs are bad buys in terms of longevity as well, they never give you enough vram unless you buy the highest tier card
even the rtx 3070 performance is collapsing due to low vram
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
Problem is; most people makes buying decisions when they are on Windows so that is not something they can avoid/be aware of until they move to Linux πΈ
rival-blackβ’3y ago
that I understand
but I don't understand why people are buying nvidia when it's clear their cards won't last
optimistic-goldOPβ’3y ago
true... it is my case
rival-blackβ’3y ago
sad fact today
rx580 8gb was a better buy than a 1060
in fact I would have rather bought an R9 390x than a 1060
because the 390x would last longer
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
With the dire state of PC ports going "nom nom" with vram lately more vram= good πΈ
rival-blackβ’3y ago
im getting scared with 16 gb of vram bro :CatYeah:
foreign-sapphireβ’3y ago
Obviously that is not the only factor but that was not something people cared about until recently
