Photos not uploading from android up

I have the

Recent

Recent

folder on my Android phone selected for backup. I have tried to start the backup several times.

The android app reports:

Total: 3779 assets
Backup: 183 assets
Remainder: 3596

Remainder: 3596

If I look at the Immich web app I can only see 176 images actually showing up from my phone.

There are also 1573 images in the

upload/

upload/

folder. Are files moved out of there when they are imported?
