How did you verify that the octopus was flashed?

The letters after the Firmware file have changed. It is not .bin anymore.

when you ssh into the pi and run lsusb what does it return?

Sorry. I do not know what you mean.
blacksmithforlife
ssh is how you connect to your raspberry pi on the command line. You then need to run the command lsusb

stormy-gold13mo ago
ok. It returns mcu: unable to connect. I tried with to different cables.
blacksmithforlife
No, that is not what lsusb will output. Copy and paste the output

In Zeile:1 Zeichen:1 + lsusb + ~ + CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (lsusb:String) [], CommandNotFoundException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException sorry he talks German... He does not know the command

@mitsuma or @Helge Keck maybe one of you can help? lsusb should be installed by default on Rat-OS

For reference guys, there's no reason to send people through SSH before asking if the configurator detected the board. That's why it's there, to solve these board issues without teaching people command line stuff.

stormy-gold13mo ago
ok. so there is a way for people like me? Who don´t know much about programming?
Mitsuma
Mitsuma13mo ago
visit http://RatOS.local/configure and follow the configurator

stormy-gold13mo ago
Thanks. But that is what I did!

And does it say it's detected or not?

my condolences. adc_out of range happens when a thermistor is not plugged in or has other issues

The error you're getting means klipper is communicating with the board, so you're good on that front. Also, my condolences.

blacksmithforlife
I still have the same issues

Yes

I would double check your thermistor wires
Mitsuma
Mitsuma12mo ago
as was explained before, ADC out of range is a thermistor not being connected, having connection issues or being wrongly configured sensor type
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
I checkes them a few times. I do no not see any problems. And now it changes

blacksmithforlife
what kind of thermistor are you using?
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
At the Heatbed it is the RatRig Standard. And for the Hotned it is a PT100 Sensor.
blacksmithforlife
did you change your config to match you are using a PT100?
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
No. Do I News to do this??? And If yes: HOW? 🙄🫣
blacksmithforlife
1) is it a PT100 or PT1000? A PT100 needs an amplifier, while the 1000 doesn't 2) which port did you plug the thermistor into?
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
Hi blacksmithforlife. It is a PT100. What kind of amplifier and where can I buy it? 2. I took the standard port as shown in the RatRig wiring guide.
blacksmithforlife
you can search for pt100 amplifier but honestly it is probably easier to just replace it with a different thermistor (like a pt1000 or just a generic 3950)
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
Ok. I will buy one and try it. Thank you very much! Which thermistor can I buy without changing things?
Mitsuma
Mitsuma12mo ago
for a PT1000 you just need to change the sensor type in config
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
OK. In printer.cfg?
Mitsuma
Mitsuma12mo ago
yes, as an user override
stormy-gold
stormy-gold12mo ago
OK. I will have a try! Thank you so much!

OK. How great would it be, If things work now. With some interrupting I am on that issue since beginning of April now. But do I need to write [extruder] or [hotend]?
