iOS - new phone not uploading in background
Setting up a new phone with immich with massive amount of photos and videos. Its not uploading photos and videos in the background, on when on foreground. Checked and turned on background refresh on the iOS. Uploading stopped when app is not in the foreground. Do I have to let the app stayed in the foreground the first time setting up to upload?

When you put the app into background, the iOS scheduler will schedule a timeslot for the task to run and this is indeterministic based on how iOS schedules background tasks, but eventually it will run
ah okay, so i just have to be patience about it then? I have the background refresh turned on.
yes, it depends on how many app you allow background app refresh run and your usage frequency of the Immich app as well
it is a black box for us on how iOS scheduler work 😅
Just be patience was the same for me took a while 🙂 what you can do is force sync it in the foreground for the initial pictures.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. I'll let it do it's thing to get backup in the foreground. Does great when it picks up new assets tho once it grabs the initial photos.
