Gog games (Windows) not always downloading properly

As in the title. I am trying to install some Windows-based games from my GOG library, but often the download simply calls itself done after a few seconds without actually having done anything, not even making the destination folder. Sometimes I can resolve the issue by clearing the cache and repairing or forcing an update for the game. A preliminary reading of the attached log seems to indicate a failure to communicate with, or rejection by, the GOG servers? (If someone could explain the log to me like the newbie I am, that'd be great too.)

(what the hell is with this line?) gogdl info: error: argument --platform/--os: invalid choice: 'Windows' (choose from 'windows', 'osx', 'linux')

When you're in the install dialog, Heroic might not know which platforms a game is available for, so a default Windows is used. Seems like that should be a windows for GOG games instead Anyways, the root issue of this does look like an unstable connection to GOG's CDN

Is there anything I could do about that from my end, or no?

Well, general "unstable connection" solutions apply here (move closer to your router if using WiFi, possibly use a LAN connection)

Unfortunately, those aren't exactly practical in my case, but now I think of the one time it did end up working may have had a lot to do with the actual time that I did it. Well, at this point I seem to have eventually got through via sheer perseverance among other things, so case closed I guess? Update, due to moving to a new place and changing to a wired connection: STILL having these unstable connection symptoms!
