Phase 4 Async Retro - BTC Miami and Web5 Tech Preview
Phase 4 - BTC Miami and Web5 Tech Preview Async Retrospective
Hi, all. After last week I've put some thoughts together I'd like to share, and invite everyone to do the same. There's a lot of good - we delivered! And I've been hearing we all see some room for improvement, which is a really healthy position to be in. We all care, and we all want to develop a strong open source presence for TBD, for Web5, and our community. My goal remains: a model open source program for the industry.
Would love to hear what's on your mind in this thread; as always, it gives us clarity around what we should improve.

Mine - the great:
First - I think it's important we take a step back and appreciate how far OSS delivery has come. Just 2 months ago, we did not have a published documentation set for Web5, or clear understanding for how we ship software between OSE components, DevRel content, Programs systems, and the community. We now have a tangible, useful center for appdevs and contributors of our Open Source efforts - developer.tbd.website. It's because of everyone's teamwork and passionate commitment to developer experience that this exists alongside the Web5 Tech Preview. I'm very proud we can all stand behind that.
Notably, we've delivered:
* An intuitive Web5 Tech Preview and friendly API for
dwn
operations
* Support for Bitcoin Miami's demo app and @csuwildcat's session on the Open Source Stage
* A Web5 QuickStart which is itself a Web5 application
* A TODO app example we're already seeing the community use (and improve via a PR!)
* A Feedback widget to let folks know what's working for them and not
* A Contributing page to help folks know how to get started with contribution
* Design and UX improvements making a more pro look
* Hooks from the home page and project pages into actionable Docs
I've gotten feedback for improvement both personally and in groups that center on a couple of themes. I'll address those after others weigh in here as I don't want to color this discussion prematurely. 🙂
