Rocket League won't Launch

I am using MacOS Sonoma (beta 2) on an M1 Max MacBook Pro. I found the Heroic Launcher and saw that it could run games from Epic Games. I recently got the Game Porting Toolkit for MacOS and followed the steps to be able to run Rocket League on Heroic. However, when I attempt to launch the game, the button says "PLAYING(STOP)" for 10-20 seconds, then reverts back to "PLAY NOW". Nothing outside of Heroic opens at all. Is there anything I could try to fix this issue?

what steps have you followed? the stable version of Heroic does not support the game porting toolkit, you can read here https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/pull/2787 to try a development version and it's also explained how to do it

After downloading a prebuilt binary of Heroic Version 2.8.0 (original thread here: https://discord.com/channels/812703221789097985/1093506682673446983/1119618326574944329) Rocket League was working until yesterday. I get a windows 10 style pop up that says Rocket League encountered a fatal error. I'm currently uninstalling and reinstalling rocket league, will update shortly on if this fixes the issue or not.

@BleuComet37 I had the same issue with the game not launching but on Fall Guys and aparently the problem was that there was no file provided to launch the game so check if the game files are properly "connected" to Heroic Games Launcher.

@Gomeo Well on Fall Guys it was in Game settings and there was something called Executable File or something I don't remember.

Check the link above to the conversation, I'll copy and paste here for ease of reference though: ----- You can download a pre-built binary for macOS from https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/actions/runs/5294392387 You'll also have to run xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Heroic.app once you've installed this version, as only actual releases are signed

When I downloaded this version, it ended up not needing the game porting toolkit. It's using Wine Crossover 22.1.1. However like you I originally tried using the game porting toolkit and it worked initially, then stopped working. This version helped fixed that, however because this is a pre-built binary it isn't merged in with the official stable release of Heroic. The only thing is you won't see player-tag names above the car, otherwise it works fine. Only recommending you use it as a last minute resort if all else fails (like it did for me).

Okay so it keeps doing nothing. Pressing the play button says ‘’Playing (Stop)’’ then goes back to ‘’Play Now’’ after a few seconds just as the description of the post suggests it Also I’ve noticed thar my Crossover bottles keeps ‘’Scanning’’ for hours. I don’t know if that might be the problem. I cant do anything while they are in that stare such as installing new applications into them

Hm, seems like it's just crashing (without any indication as to why) Rocket League's own log files can be found in /Users/bat_tech/Games/Heroic/rocketleague/drive_c/users/bat_tech/Documents/My Games/Rocket League/TAGame/Logs, those might have clues on what's going wrong. Other than that, have you already tried verifying your game files?

Hm, that's certainly not right I noticed that the log you sent in was from yesterday evening, are you sure it's up-to-date? Maybe you've changed your prefix location since then? 'nother possibility would be that something else is going wrong in Heroic & you're not even getting to the game launch itself (which would cause these symptoms) You might want to send in Heroic's general log ("Settings" in the sidebar -> "Log" tab) after trying to start the game
