My RatOS dont connect to wifi

Hi, I have a problem with my printer. I cant connect to wifi. I have a minion with skr-mini-e3-30, raspberry pi 4 with latest Ratos. Everything was ok with installing and configuring the printer. But the moment i disconnect from RatOS network and restart the printer it doesnt connect to my wifi. I can connect to raspberry through RatOS wifi and use putty, whitch i did to configure the country in rasp-config but still doesnt work. If i restart the host and the printer from the menu on LCD attached, when i go to Configuration - Network, i can see my wifi but i get this msg : <3> CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED reason=3 locally_generated=1. I tried to search on the net for this error but i didnt help. I dont want to play with all those linux commands. Did somebody else had this problem and how you solve it? Thank You.

whitch i did to configure the country in rasp-config
This likely busted the wpa supplicant setup. If the RatOS hotspot comes back up after you've configured your wifi through the configurator, your password was wrong. Connect to the hotspot and try again. It's possible your local wifi setup is rejecting the request from the pi for other reasons, but that's where you gotta look if you're sure you entered the correct password. Your WIFI setup.

In the original wpa_supplicant.conf the country was DE, after i changed to my own country and a few more reboots my raspberry connected to my wifi. I had this problem with Ratos 1.x with a different wifi and it seems i have it now with Ratos 2.0 .It never connect right after i boot my printer, not even if i wait few minutes, i had to reboot a few times before my raspberry finally connect to wifi. But this time it didnt want to connect at all. Only after i changed the country and a few more reboots. I dont know what the problem could be because the install of Ratos was fine. I could see and select my wifi, my board was recognized and the flashing was ok. thank you for reply

the country is set automatically based on what your router reports for the SSID. You need to check your wifi routers logs to find out what's going on. As i mentioned earlier, either it connects to your wifi or it hosts the RatOS hotspot, so you always have a way in. Check your wifi for connected devices.

My router was not installed by me. Ill check the settings. Thank You. Back with my problem πŸ™‚ , i tried to use my v-minion again today and i got the same problem of not connecting to wifi. Thinking my router is the problem i used the ratos hotspot to configure a new wifi in my raspberry. This time i used my cellphone as a hotspot. but after a restart of the printer, same problem. I can see for a few seconds all the wireless networks on my klipper screen, then all of them disappear and no matter how many time i click the refresh icon my raspberry doesnt find wireless networks. Of course after a while ratos hotspot is created. I had this problem even in ratos 1.x but after a few restarts my printer would connect to wifi, but with ratos 2.x i just cant solve it. Hi, my ratos 2.0 still doesnt want to connect to wifi. I installed a raspberry os with desktop interface and i saw that wifi is not by default on. I had to turn it on and only after that i could see my wifi and connect without problems. I installed back the ratos and using ssh i connected to raspberry and i tried to play a little with raspi-config. And of course in System option / Wireless LAN menu my rpi cant see my router. Then i tried Advanced option and played with dhcpd and network manager. If i activate network manager, ratos wifi disappear. I dont know much about linux and commands but i think the rpi os is to blame for my problems. What commands lines should i use after i finish to install the ratos to make wifi to work? It have to be the rpi os because after i restart the rpi ,when i go to network menu in klipperscreen, i can see my wifi for a few seconds then they disappear and no matter for how long i click the refresh icon, my rpi see no wifi and after a while ratos wifi come back. If nobody can help me solve this problem, then the only solution is to go back to ratos 1.0 and never update.

you shouldn't be using anything other than the configurator (http://RatOS.local/configure ) to set the wifi as this step shows: https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation#wifi-or-ethernet Once the configurator saves the wifi it will reboot the pi and show connect to your wifi network

I did used the configurator but after i set the wifi and reboot, the configurator stops there. I have to use the link http://RatOS.local/configure?step=1 and the ratos hotspot to be able to continue. On my printer LCD i can see for a few seconds the wifi i need to connect then it disappear and ratos comes back. I tried an raspberry OS with desktop interface and i saw the wifi is not on , i have to turn it on manually , but after that i can see my router and connect without problems. This means the rpi and the router work just fine. I tried to make a hotspot with my cellphone, with the same result. If i ssh into the raspberry and open the wpa supplicant, i can see the ssid and the password i just saved with the configurator.

the rpi os is to blame for my problems
Or your network. I have 4 rpi's with RatOS 2 connected to my wifi. It works. The vast majority of users use wifi. So something on your end is causing problems.
I did used the configurator but after i set the wifi and reboot, the configurator stops there
Obviously, it's rebooting and reconnecting to your wifi network. As i mentioned earlier, you need to check your wifi router logs to find out what's happening. I can't do anything without information about your particular network, i don't know of any other users in your situation.

I downloaded and install and older Ratos 2.0 from 03.03.2023. Everything worked as it should. It connected to my wifi with no problems. Then i updated every module from ratos web interface. I still think there is something in the new configurator that doesnt work right for me. Older version of ratos install and connect without problems to my wifi, a fresh install of the latest ratos doesnt. As for the "blame" word , i think i didnt choose my words right. After all, english is not my native language, some time i have to use google translate for some words or expression. I have the outmost respect for you and your work, considering you do this for free on your own free time

No worries, i appreciate it! It's very strange to me that an older v2 release worked.. I don't even know where to start looking.. πŸ€”

I struggle with a similar issue - rpi4b and what ever I do, I can't get it to connect to any wifi. I can connect to the hotspot. When poking around in raspi-config, it says "No wireless interface found". I'll give a it go with the older version of RatOS but, I won't be home in the next couple of days πŸ™‚

Nothing has changed with the WiFi between 2.x and 1.x

Thank you for replying. I was thinking of just the first V2 release as per Unclebones experience https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1129682944391389246/1134126175376117900 and that it worked for that user πŸ™‚ I don't believe that I have a HW issue as RaspianOS works fine with wifi

RaspianOS is legacy at this point. It's been Raspberry Pi OS for a while. You'd need to test with Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye. But all v2 releases are based on Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye, and there has been no changes to wifi from v2 to v2.0.2.

Thank you for replying and correcting me. I guess that ages me πŸ˜„ I used a recent image from rpi imager. But, I'll use the newest just to be sure. The usual suspects in my, honestly limited, knowledge of troubleshooting this kind of behavior, enabled dhcpcd, enabled network manager, creating a new wpa_supplicant.conf, be sure that wlan0 or wlan1 aren't blocked. Had me looking here for advice on how to move forward. This issue seemed similar and with my owner also helped with typing SSID/PWD for my wifi and I figured it must be sw/driver related πŸ™‚ I'll report back when I've tried the newest image in a couple of days πŸ™‚ Thank you again @miklschmidt I'm reporting back. As you stated or suggested, nothing's changed or wrong with RatOS. A reimage of the latest version solved it - something must've corrupted on my original install. Thank you for your help πŸ™‚
