Beautiful stuff from a tiny shop. I love their Herdwick Tweed. If I could get a coat in that I would pay big big money

The ulster is coming out soon in herdwick 🙂

I have a Tielocken in Bedford cord , beautiful coat. Their prices are surprisingly cheap compared to how well made their clothes are

I have 2 tropical wool suits, 2 trousers, 1 jacket, 2 coats from them. Love every piece. Customer service is incredible and Paul is obviously very passionate about his product and his brands philosophy.

The Ulster mentioned is looking damn good https://www.instagram.com/p/CvWqTb5s-mL/ . bring on the cold

Here's the Ulster again: development now complete. The cloth used here for the development sample sadly isn't Herdwick tweed — that most violently hairy, richly arcadian, and expertly woven of woollens, a fresh batch of which has graced the workshop the past few winters courtesy of @woveninthebone — though it does look rather similar to it. And ...

Only piece I got from them is the navy peacoat. A little excited for winter to come to wear it. (It is a bit heavy on the shoulders though) awesome. We await your fit pic. Unfortunately the one on the website is only on the dummy

how many of the totes you got by now lol do you always order the same size?
CA_Aegis
CA_AegisOP3y ago
Enough for my entire family and distant relatives 😂 It really depend on the fabric, the cut Getting the same size across all different types gonna be wrong. I learnt some hard lessons buying same size For example duffle in S is slimmer than balmacaan in S
kalvin
kalvin3y ago
Yeah, I wish their physical store re-opens. It was tough having to order different sized coats all at once

I have a pair of their field trousers in a thick wool that I love. Also a sweater that is so toasty I don’t wear it above freezing (but it’s real nice on the cold-cold days)

Oh for sure. Their falls winter line ups are ridiculously good. The pants at high rise and super interesting tweed and wool.

Painful brand to love after moving to a hot climate. Even their summer stuff is usually in a significant weight. Im hoping the work jacket makes a return in linen next year …

With climate change too lol. I’ve been meaning to bust out my peacoat but summer is not ending

I'm curious about the fit of their trousers. Does anyone have pictures of the various fits? On the website, the work pants and dress pants feel a bit too narrow for what I'm looking for. I'm interested in seeing what the field pants will look like this year, as they seem a bit more loose.

CA_AegisOP3y ago
Same. Climate change really f up my plan to wear coats 😦 The dress trousers have more give in the waist for me, and also it really depending on the material. Field trousers are straighter in the leg, and the dress is fullest. Now if i can shed more weight to fit in them again i will post fit pics of each type… trying hard on that

Popped the seams on both pits on the heavy cord work jacket from a couple years ago. The one with the open pit construction. First catastrophic fail on any SEH Kelly items. I popped one and was showing what it was meant to look like to the seamstress and realised the other one had already blown.

did you buy tts? i got my reg size and i think i can wear either shirt or tshirt with it
Elvander
Elvander2y ago
Yeah, it fits fine. i think the issue is how tight the taper is on the sleeve there's a bit of resistance getting my hand through the opening

CA_AegisOP2y ago
omg, i agree

probably tugged each time I put it on

Does anyone else fine that SEH kelly quality is actually not that good? I have a pair of their pants and I'm amazed at how quickly the crotch seam has come out. They use wonderful fabric but the construction seems to leave things to be desired.
Elvander
Elvander2y ago
In my experience it's very very good for the money you're paying. Stuff like crotch blow-outs I'm not hugely surprised their pants silhouettes have been really slim until maybe a year or two ago. I've brought their pieces to an old school bespoke tailor in Dublin for adjustments and he was blown away by the construction. His kids told me he was showing it off to another tailor. Only issue I've had is the pit cut outs on the chore jacket ripped because the sleeves are insanely narrow and were pulling when I put it on. That's a quirk of the weird design and part of the charm of the brand to me. This might be :copium: but the tailor thing is genuine.

My experience with their construction as been very good. Much better than lots of other stuff I paid quite a lot more for.
ezluckyfree
ezluckyfree2y ago
hm, ok. I'll give them another chance. I agree their clothes are very slim, and their lack of belt loops makes it a bit tricky to size up.

Not sure if anyone lives near the store and can confirm but apparently Paul has passed away?
Elvander

Styleforum is saying the same. That’s awful news if true. I only ever talked to him over email but he was a gent and singularly passionate about his product.
shootfilmnotbullets
that's where I first read it. he seemed like such a great member of the clothing world

Incredibly sad if true. I have been a customer since 2018 and frequently talked to him and the folks on sf in his brand thread. I cant believe this happened. He taught me a little bit on how to write like him :((
