I'd prefer round as well, but the look of it would still need some changes. Bands go a long way, as does making sure the screen is either off or appropriate.
I don't type on mine really. It's mostly a health tracker and a selective notifications thing for me. It's helped me keep my phone in my pocket or somewhere else, and that's a big life win for me
I do both. I have an Apple Watch for fitness/health tracking, notifications, and other info (weather, etc), and I have a few nice mechanical watches that I wear day-to-day. I like having my steps and heart rate recorded, and the mechanical watch is more like jewelry, so I wear both rather than alternate between the two. The exception is when I wear a suit - I'll skip the Apple Watch and just wear a mechanical watch.
It definitely looks a little goofy - there's no way around it - but whatever. I wish the Apple Watch could look more like a bracelet (like a whoop band or fitbit), but it doesn't, so I just put it on a braided loop band
I only wore my Apple Watch for like 6 + years before making the switch to a seiko classic a couple months ago. I wanted to do both but couldn’t find a good way to do it. Anyways I’m way happier with my overall look just wearing the seiko, I just keep the Apple Watch in my bag for working out. I thought I’d miss the various functions of the apple watch but I honestly don’t at all
There are a bunch of Amazon knockoffs, and I'd rec those instead, bc they're almost identical, and they all stretch out over time and need to be replaced if you want a snug fit
most smartwatch come with those silicone straps that easily show wear and tear after months of use as it rubs on your skin (not too noticeable at distance and depending on color). at the same time they need to fit tight to function properly (e.g. for health tracking)
