Knitting pattern recs for a cardigan?
Bit of a niche request but my wife knits and hasn't knit me anything yet. Told her I wanted a cardigan but I've been struggling to find a good pattern. Checked ravelry and it's mostly been "meh" after looking at other people's projects and seeing how they "really" come out. I'm thinking something with a shawl collar, texture, and a bit chunkier but not so chunky that I couldn't dress it up a bit. Anyone here knit or know someone who does and have a killer cardigan pattern?

From personal experience, starting with a cardigan can be rough to get the shape right even with a good pattern.
My wife knits and has done lots of crewneck sweaters, but I asked her for a shawl cardigan and the project ended up being the bane of her existence.
Brooklyn Tweed makes nice patterns, though
As far as other things to look for the the weight though, Moss Stitch with a merino wool is a nice combo

Maybe should've mentioned, but she has knit cardigans for herself before so this wouldn't be new to her haha. When I first asked more than a year ago she was like "ew no" but now a couple cardigans and like 3 or 4 crewnecks later she said "yeah find me a pattern and I'll do it"

Nina Schweisgut has designed a variation of her classic Kimono Jacket. She kept the characteristic cut of the Kimono Jacket, but twiddles with a new stitch and different yarn.

Ok so among knitters there is a superstition called “the sweater curse”, the idea that you can’t knit a sweater for the person you’re in a relationship with because it’ll fall apart before the sweater’s off the needles. Unless she’s offered to make one for you, you might want to be aware of that
Pattern depends on preference as well, I much prefer knitting in the round to working flat which means for cardigans I would have to chose one with a steek
ooh I'm liking this one on first glance, thanks for sharing
Heck, you could probably forgo the buttons and just have the belt, would look
