Pants Fit Question

Hey, long time lurker, first time poster. I've been recently experimenting with more straight and relaxed fit pants, I tend to like the silhouette better and I can't personally stand the way slim and tapered pants look/feel on me. However there's this weird crease that's forming with all of my new pants that's throwing off the silhouette. It starts from behind my knee and it wraps around to the outseam, causing the fabric to bunch up and puff out at my hips. I showed it with red in the pictures (The jeans are N&F True Guy, the fatigues are Stan Ray).

I don't know what's causing this, especially because it's happening with all my new stuff. Is it a normal thing to happen with pants? I find it a bit unflattering. Should I consider tailoring? I've had a hard time figuring out my correct fit, so any advice would be appreciated!
