Flip flops / sandals
My cheap pair of flip flops just died. I see so many different sandal options these days - addidas/crocs in addition to standard slip flops like rainbows and reef. I'd like something easy to pack and decent with water. Any options y'all like?

How outdoorsy are you going for? Birkenstock and Teva / Chaco are some classic options
Decently. I want something easy to slip on and Birkenstock are a little big and heavy
I love my Tevas and I abuse tf out of them
when you say 'decent with water' what do you mean? "will survive if I walk through puddles now and again" or "I expect them to be drenched on a regular basis" or "I am literally going to be wearing these while walking in the surf"
I agree that Birkenstocks are too heavy and Chacos are essentially the same. This makes me think that you want a sport sandal of the third category. Tevas are better but still heavy. You might look at Lunas or Xeros, the correct models of which will be lightweight and essentially water-immune. but these are not fashion sandals really, they're functional.
if you want literally slip on and light, plus reasonably water resistant as long as you let em dry out, just go rainbow. if you want something literally slip on and invincible, and pragmatically probably the best flip flop for having fun on the beach, just get these https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=546953002&cid=1016049&pcid=1016049&vid=1&cpos=0&cexp=2926&kcid=CategoryIDs%3D1016049&cvar=26332&ctype=Listing&cpid=res23081417611401957278792#pdp-page-content

another alternative to luna or xero, slightly heavier, is bedrock sandals which my wife swears by
Flip-flops are the ones that put a g-string through your big and second toe, right? A lot of the major sports brands make slides, if those fit the bill. Adidas, Nike, Puma, etc. They'll all pretty much felt and performed the same, imo.
Avoid anything with the foam padding under the strap if you'll be around water.
The former 🙂
