java.net.SocketException when using quilt server

When I try to connect to my quilt server, the game seems to always throw a

java.net.SocketException

error. This happens when I have no mods and default configs from

quilt-installer.jar

. I can connect to the server when I run the vanilla server instead (

server.jar

server.jar

in the same folder). I've tried connecting to the quilt server using both a vanilla client and quilt, on two different computers. Any ideas on what to do?
