AdGuard Issues

Hi all, I run 3 instances of adblocker on my homelab, each one of them on a different host: - Main Host (Synology) - AdGuard Home on mavlan so it can have it's own IP - Backup Host (Synology) - AdGuard Home on mavlan so it can have it's own IP - RPI4 running Pi-hole on a dietpi. I can add the apps without any issues, but for the first AdGuard, running on the same host (and docker) I get EHOSTUNREACH error. In addition, the widgets to display info and control the adguard do not work at all, even if I let it run for a few hours. In terms of the EHOSTUNREACH, it looks like when I try to ping my local AdGuard ip from the Homarr docker, there's no connection, which I don't understand why. I've tried turning off the firewall on both my router and Synology without sucess. Any help would be appreciated !

Hi @gtensolr , can you enter the console of the Docker container and check, if your instance is reachable from there? You can use tools like wget, curl, ping, ... Almost all the time, the instances are not reachable from the container due to bad network configuration. You can also try to set Homarr into host network mode instead of the default bridge.

Hi @manicraft1001 This is what I figured, but I'm not exactly sure how to solve. I;ll try to change to host and see what I get. Any hints in terms of the widgets?

What do you mean by hints? As long as you configured the user name and password correctly, they should just connect Sometimes they don't refresh imminently. You can force them to refresh by clearing the cache.

I've tried clearing the cache, rebulding the container and many other solutions and it keeps refreshing. I wonder if the issue with not connecting with the first AdGuard instance is causing a loop. I'll remove it and see what happens

It won't refresh anymore if you remove the failing Adguard apps obviously Did you try host network mode?

Not yet (just finishing a few things before). I still have one session of AdGuard and Pi-hole running I tried host network and it didn't work, but ultimately one of the things that solved the issue of the AdGuard and Pi-hole info not dysplayed was to add 1 thing at a time and wait until it populated. If I added 2-3 widgets before the info popul;ating it didn't work. I'm still working on the network issue and I suspect it's because host network can't access mcvlan network on docker RESOLVED: If a macvlan network is being used on docker, you have to assign the bridge network address:port to Homarr so the connectiong can be established.
