What would you wear under this?

This one has been giving me trouble. Got it a few months ago but can’t seem to figure out what to wear underneath. It looks great under an oatmeal turtleneck sweater but not much else. Looks okay with a denim or olive shirt. I’m thinking it’d look good under a light brown shirt though but I’m worried it might just not look good under any collared shirt, at least while buttoned. Doesn’t seem casual enough to wear with a t shirt either. At the same time doesn’t seem formal enough to throw a tie underneath as well. I’m at a loss. Thoughts?
