opening iris installer jar file
stupid question I know, but what application I use to open the iris installer jar file with? Do I have to install java to open it?

Though I would recommend going to the development kits and getting Java 17. 8 will work fine though
why is 17.8 better out of curiosity?
Java 17 is newer and can run Minecraft 1.17 and up while Java 8 can only run 1.16.5 and older
That part is only relevant if youβre going to use a third-party launcher though
